Our charity - the AV Foundation

While Dave's expeditions encourage a love of sport, healthy living and the importance of caring for our planet's waters, the Great Big Paddle will be raising funds for the AV Foundation, helping East African schools benefit from solar and water systems to ensure the availability of electricity and safe, potable water for all.

All of the AV Foundation's admin costs are covered by a sister company, Africa & Asia Venture, which ensures every penny raised by the Great Big Paddle goes straight to the cause. 100%.

Using the funds raised during the 2009 Murray River Expedition, schools in Uganda and Kenya have already benefitted from installment of 10,000 litre rainwater catchment tanks and guttering along school buildings.

AV works with other local organisations, like African Promise in Kenya, to ensure their projects are managed without fault.
